Teresita “Aunt Tess” Patricio was honored on her 80th birthday by the Delano City Council. The award was presented to her by Mayor Salvador Solorio-Ruiz and Council Member Liz Morris.

In a brief but touching interaction, Solorio-Ruiz shared words of gratitude for Patricio’s business and it’s support of the Delano Community.
“Today we celebrate someone who has given so much to Delano for decades. Through Fil-Bake Shop she has shared her culture, her generosity, and her love for this community.”

Patricio has ran the bakery for more than 45 years since it’s founding in 1980. The Filipino bakery is a staple amongst Delano citizens, with items such as their Lady Fingers providing many people their favorite comfort food.
“I am thankful for everyone that supports the bakery, and helping us exist for the past 45 years.” said Patricio. “At the age of 80 I’ve learned to love the business and I promise that I will continue serving the community while God is giving me the help that I need.”
